9 Halloween Costumes You Can Do With Just Makeup

There's nothing wrong with deciding to be your favorite pet for Halloween — and then drawing on whiskers and a cat nose with eyeliner at the last minute. However, there are so many other creative ways to DIY Halloween costumes — and none of them require actually buying a costume.
With these looks, you can go all out with your makeup and wear whatever you feel comfortable in. The best part is that you probably own most of the makeup you need to make these happen, and you don't have to know how to do any intricate special-effects makeup, as seen with these terrifyingly awesome looks.

Bloody Queen

Merge the red eye makeup and dotted liner trends of 2017 into one spooky situation.

Neon Skull

Instead of covering your whole face with your internal anatomy, try just a quarter of it by outlining your jawbone, teeth and eye socket with fluorescent hues.

Glitter Face

Some Allure editors may not endorse glitter-packed face masks, but I fully support covering your face in glittery makeup for Halloween purposes. After drawing on wings and swiping on black lipstick, slap some Vaseline all over your skin and press glitter on top of it. A balm will be easier to remove than glue — and your skin will be much happier about it, too.

Crying Heart

Makeup artist Mei Pang only used Make Up For Ever's new Color Sticks for this heartbreaking look.

Bratz Doll

Alissa Ashley's take on the latest nostalgic beauty trend is the perfect Halloween makeup inspo.

Jack-O-Lantern

Face painter Laura Kalmakoff etched on geometric shapes to bring the classic pumpkin cut-outs to life. (Try taping off the sections for crisp lines.) She also added neon yellow to the inner corners of her eyes to truly light up the look.

Pointilism

Literally, all you need is a liquid liner like NYX's That's the Point Eyeliner to create this dotted extravaganza. Oh yeah, and a lot of patience.

Old Hollywood Glamour

Glue down your brows for ample space to add glitter to your lids for this glitzy Vaudeville glam.
